Joseph O'Connor

Joseph E. O’Connor, Esq. resides in New Paltz, New York with his wife, Olana and newborn daughter, Sophia. With the exception of his schooling, he has lived in New York State his entire life. Joseph is a Partner in the law firm of Mainetti, Mainetti & O’Connor, P.C. and graduated from St. John’s Law School in 1996. In addition, he played football for Brown University as well as golf.

Joseph is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, U.S. District Court Northern District of New York, U.S. District Court Eastern District of New York and U.S. District Court Southern District of New York.

During Law School he was employed by the NFL Management Council as a Legal Clerk. After law school, Joseph worked briefly in Kingston, New York at the law firm of Curran, Gruner & O’Connor. This firm engaged in general practice with an emphasis on Criminal Defense. After a short period as a solo practitioner in Kingston, Joseph joined Alfred B. Mainetti, Esq., and was introduced to the practice of Personal Injury Law. Joseph soon discovered that it was this area of law that would be both most challenging and satisfying. Shortly after joining Alfred B. Mainetti, Esq., he became a Partner in 2002. Mr. O’Connor dedicated the majority of his time to the representation of seriously and catastrophically injured persons. The law firm of Mainetti, Mainetti & O’Connor, P.C., handles cases involving injuries resulting in death, brain damage, severe debilitating orthopedic injuries as well as simple whip lash. Every year Mr. O’Connor litigates multiple multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts for his injured clients.

The practice of personal injury law has become more than a means to earn a comfortable living but a passion. Joseph is a member of various professional organizations, including the American Association of Justice, New York State Trial Lawyers, New York State Bar Association and the Ulster County Bar Association.
