Trucking is a heavily regulated industry. At our Friendswood, Texas law firm we represent people injured in trucking accidents. 18-wheeler accidents present unique issues not associated with a typical car crash or motor vehicle accident.
These differences include federal regulations and safe operating requirements that cover commercial truck drivers, common carriers, vehicles, and vehicle equipment; federal regulations and safe operating requirements covering the transportation of hazardous materials, including proper packaging, employee training, hazard communication, and operational requirements; federal regulations regarding driver alertness and fatigue-related incidents, safety regulations, licensing, and insurance requirements issued by states and other government entities; rules regarding corporate liability for negligent hiring, supervision, and truck maintenance and rules regarding liability for leased vehicles.
