Jon Papin

Jon Papin joins Cogan & Power with over twenty years of experience as a personal injury and medical malpractice attorney. Jon Papin was previously a partner in the defense firm of Bollinger, Ruberry & Garvey. For the last eight years, he has dedicated his law practice to representing victims of birth injury, medical malpractice, commercial trucking accidents and construction disasters.

In 2008, Jon Papin had over $30 million dollars in jury verdicts and settlements, including a $9.8 million verdict which is the highest net jury verdict in Illinois for a case involving complex regional pain syndrome. Another case venued in Federal Court in Chicago settled for $13 million dollars. It involved a fatigued trucker who caused the Wrongful Deaths of a mother and her two young sons.

In the five previous years, he obtained more than $57 million in verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. He holds several record Illinois jury verdicts and settlements and received the highest possible peer review rating (AV) from Martindale-Hubbell. Jon Papin was also chosen by his peers as being in the top 5% of attorneys in Illinois and is a member of the Illinois Leading Lawyers Network. He is the Illinois State Advisory Board Member to APITLA (Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America). Jon Papin works through this organization to reduce the number of injuries and deaths across America that are caused by unsafe and illegally operating trucking companies.
